Visit Akshaya Patra

Wake early this morning to witness Akshaya Patra’s Jaipur kitchen in action. This community kitchen provides meals to the city’s underprivileged school children. The organization as a whole, with kitchens in most of India’s major cities, serves meals to over 1.2 million children daily. Enjoy breakfast at the kitchen, and see a presentation that discusses the organization’s work in the community.



Visit Jaipur’s Markets

Wander through Jaipur’s markets this evening, and see why the city is known as the “Gem City.” Among other goods, wares, and crafts, you’ll find no shortage of kundan jewelry, usually consisting of gold studded with precious gems, a specialty of Jaipur. Be sure to pick up a piece to take home as a souvenir and don’t forget to bargain!

Visit the Amber Fort

Today, experience atypical transportation as you ride the back of a painted elephant to the Palace of Amber. Here, you can explore parts of this walled city palace that has been called the finest example of Rajput architecture.



Guided sightseeing of Jaipur

This afternoon, a local guide shows you the highlights of Jaipur. Explore the extravagant City Palace, the principal residence of the maharajas, before visiting the magnificent Palace of the Winds and Jantar Mantar.
